Quick answer: On September 15, 2026, nine acts — Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Morgan Wallen, Rauw Alejandro, Yung Lean, PinkPantheress, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso and Keith Richards — posted new Grand Theft Auto VI artwork within hours of each other, and Fred again.. made ten. That is strong evidence those artists are involved in something, and it is not a Rockstar announcement: no song, no station, no role and no release was named, and the official Grand Theft Auto VI site still carries no music post (checked today). The confirmed count did not move — Rockstar has played 21 songs in official material and named zero radio stations. The twelve-station list everyone reprints still comes from unauthorised footage of a development build that leaked between August 18 and 26, 2026. It may well be accurate. It is not confirmed, and we do not treat it as such.

The September 15 artist wave

Artist claim — coordinated, but not a Rockstar announcement. On the night of September 15, 2026, a run of major musicians posted new artwork drawn in Grand Theft Auto VI's house style to their own accounts, most of them within a couple of hours of each other. Nothing about it was accidental. Nothing about it was an announcement either.

Even the headcount is unsettled. Kotaku counted nine and left out Fred again.., whose image went up through his team rather than his own account; NME included him; other write-ups said eight, because CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso are sometimes counted as two names and sometimes as one act. If you see "8 artists", "9 artists" and "10 artists" in three different headlines, that is why — nobody is working from a published list, because there is no published list.

Three things the posts do not say

They are not a Rockstar confirmationRockstar Games has published nothing. Checked September 17, 2026: the news module on the official Grand Theft Auto VI site still shows three posts — the Extended Look on August 27, the pre-order announcement on June 24, and the November 2025 delay notice. No music post, no artist list. NME's write-up says plainly that Rockstar "has not officially confirmed" any of it, yet headlines such as TechJuice's "GTA 6 Soundtrack Artists Officially Confirmed by Rockstar Games" describe an announcement that does not exist.

Nobody said the word "radio"Cheat Code Central ran "Nine Artists Confirm GTA 6 Radio Spots". No artist mentioned a station, a radio spot or a DJ slot. Being tied to the game could mean a catalogue track licensed to a station, a song written for it, a station-exclusive release, a host role, or music that only ever appears in marketing. Those are very different outcomes and the posts distinguish between none of them.

No song was namedNot one title, release date or tracklist entry appeared in any of the posts, which is why the confirmed table below did not change. As Kotaku noted, none of these artists had a track among the songs already heard in official material — so the wave adds ten names to the "probably involved" column and zero songs to the confirmed one.

Analysis. The useful signal is not who posted, it is the spread. Ten acts covering trap and rap (Travis Scott, Future, Metro Boomin, Yung Lean), mainstream country (Morgan Wallen), Latin and Argentine pop (Rauw Alejandro, CA7RIEL & Paco Amoroso), UK dance and pop (PinkPantheress, Fred again..) and classic rock (Keith Richards) is not the shape of a single playlist. It is the shape of a station lineup, with each genre needing somewhere to live. That happens to match the shape of the leaked station list further down this page — a country station, a Latin station, a dance station, a rock station — which is worth noting as corroboration of the structure while confirming none of the names.

Travis Scott's caption is the other tell: "Phase 1" and "to be continued" say this is a rollout with more waves in it, and it starts the week Rockstar's launch marketing visibly steps up elsewhere — the City of Miami Beach voted 4-3 on September 10 to let Rockstar advertise across the city from October 15, as Kotaku reported. We argued in June that Rockstar does not need normal marketing; letting ten artists break their own news for it is a fair illustration of the point.

Artists who claimed a spot before September

Artist claim — unverified, and some of it is old. The September wave was not the first time musicians tied themselves to GTA 6. This strand gets folded into "confirmed artist" lists constantly, and it should not be — these are self-reports, several of them years old, none of them matched by anything Rockstar published.

T-Pain said in January 2024 that he was working with Rockstar, explaining it was why he had to step away from the GTA roleplay server NoPixel over a conflict of interest.
ScHoolboy Q answered a fan asking whether he would be in GTA 6 with "Ima be on tHere don't even trip" — a reply on social media, not an announcement.
Alan Palomo of Neon Indian said on a podcast that "it ain't an end for me and Rockstar", which is a hint about a future working relationship and not a GTA 6 credit.
Panama — like Neon Indian, a GTA soundtrack returnee — was reported to have posted an Instagram comment that was later deleted.

Our position. An artist saying they worked with Rockstar is real evidence and we log it, but it is the weakest tier on this page. It does not establish which game, which song, which station, or whether the work survived to the shipping build. Treat the September 15 wave as a much stronger version of the same category: better sourced, plainly coordinated, still not first-party.

Every confirmed song

Official. A song counts as confirmed here only if it played in material Rockstar itself published. That gives 21 tracks across three videos — a large, deliberately wide-ranging spread that runs from 1970s country to 2023 rap. The September 15 wave added nothing to this table, because no artist named a track.

One caveat on the count: outlet tracklists for the Extended Look split between 13 and 14 songs, and the difference is always Inner Light. Khel Now includes it; Vice does not. That is why you will see the running total quoted as both 20 and 21.

A second caveat, on the song rather than the count: the I Love Rock 'n' Roll cue plays inside an Ammu-Nation commercial in Trailer 2, and tracklists split over whether it is the 1975 original by The Arrows or Joan Jett & the Blackhearts' 1982 cover. We previously listed it as The Arrows without flagging the dispute. Rockstar has not specified the recording, so the song is confirmed and the version is not.

Analysis. The shape of that list is worth more than the individual names. Rockstar did not lead with a nostalgia play. Roughly half the Extended Look music is from the last twenty years, and three tracks are from the 2020s — which is a different posture from the "Vice City means the 1980s" assumption a lot of fans still carry. GTA 6 is set in the present day, and the music selection is behaving accordingly.

Why a trailer song is not a radio song

Analysis. This is the distinction almost every soundtrack listicle skips, and it changes how you should read the table above. Trailer music and in-game radio music are licensed separately. Clearing a track for a two-minute promotional video is a different, cheaper and much narrower deal than clearing it to loop inside a game sold for a decade.

So Tom Petty's Love Is a Long Road — the song fans have associated with GTA 6 since December 2023 — carries no guarantee of appearing on any station. It is confirmed as trailer music and nothing more.

The Extended Look tracks sit on firmer ground for a mechanical reason: much of that music is diegetic. It plays inside the world, out of car speakers and club systems, while gameplay runs. Music that is audibly coming from a car radio during a gameplay capture is far more likely to be sitting on an actual station than a song mixed over a montage. That is a reasonable inference, not a Rockstar statement — but it is the right way to rank the two halves of the list.

Where the station list actually came from

Leak — not confirmed. Search "GTA 6 radio stations" and you will get a clean list of about a dozen names, usually under a "confirmed" heading. Here is the provenance nobody prints.

Between August 18 and 26, 2026 — the nine days immediately before the Netflix premiere — a leaker operating as "CyberLeek" published a steady stream of gameplay clips, map images and cutscenes taken from a development build. Among that material was footage of the radio selection interface, which is where the names came from: CircoLoco Records Radio, V-Rock, Symphony FM, Stockyard FM, Back Country Radio, Radio On.U, Emotion 98.3, Cocoteo FM, Worldwide FM, Kaleidoscope FM, The Ola and The Chamber. Separate reporting attached artists including Lindsey Buckingham, George Strait and Jamiroquai to the leaked audio.

Rockstar responded with takedowns and, on August 26, 2026, an unusually plain statement. It called the situation "heartbreaking for our team," said "this is obviously not how we intended for you to see the game," apologised that "everything has taken as long as it has — from getting the game finished (nearly there!) to sharing more details and official gameplay," and asked people to "wait a bit longer to experience the game for themselves on November 19."

Our position. Two things are true at once. The enforcement action is strong circumstantial evidence the footage was genuine, so the station names are probably real. And they are still leaked, from a build that is now months old, with no guarantee any given station survived to launch — station lineups are exactly the kind of thing that changes late when a licensing deal falls through. We name them here because reporting that a leak happened is legitimate journalism, but we will not list them as confirmed, and per our rumor policy we do not link to the material itself. If you want the confirmed picture, it is the table above and nothing else.

V-Rock: the one station with a real official hint

Official hint — station not confirmed. One name on that leaked list has independent support that does not depend on the leak at all. In video on the official Grand Theft Auto VI website, Jason Duval wears a t-shirt carrying a redesigned V-Rock logo — the hard rock station from Vice City and Vice City Stories, redrawn rather than reused.

Analysis. The redraw is the interesting part. Pulling an old logo out of the archive for a background prop costs nothing; commissioning a new version of it costs art time, and studios generally spend art time on assets they intend to use more than once. Combined with the station appearing in leaked build footage, V-Rock returning is the single best-supported soundtrack guess available.

It is still a guess. Rockstar has not said the word "V-Rock" in any announcement, and a shirt is merchandise fiction — Leonida is full of brands that exist only as clothing. Treat it as a strong hint from an official source, which is a real category, and not as a confirmation.

CircoLoco Records is a real Rockstar label

Official context — station not confirmed. The other leaked name that deserves separate handling is CircoLoco Records Radio, because CircoLoco Records is not a fictional GTA brand. It is an actual record label Rockstar Games launched in 2021 in partnership with CircoLoco, the Ibiza party brand built around DC10, releasing house and techno from artists including The Blessed Madonna, Dixon and Solomun. Its music already plays inside GTA Online's nightclubs.

So Rockstar owns a stake in a working dance label whose catalogue it can license to itself at will — the cheapest, cleanest station in any GTA game to build. A CircoLoco station in GTA 6 is close to a business inevitability. That still is not the same as Rockstar announcing one, and we are not going to file a sensible prediction under "confirmed."

On-demand radio and a streamer toggle

Credible report. Two things about how you will actually use the radio come from creators and outlets who attended Rockstar North's hands-off preview sessions in August 2026, not from Rockstar.

An on-demand sectionPreview coverage describes the radio interface including an on-demand option alongside the stations, rather than the wheel-and-scan model the series has used since the beginning. That would mean picking a specific track instead of waiting for a station to play it.

A copyright-free music toggleTGG, a GTA creator invited to Rockstar North before the Extended Look, reported a streamer mode that filters licensed music so broadcasts and uploads do not draw copyright claims. Rockstar has published nothing about it.

Analysis. If the streamer toggle is real it solves a problem that has quietly shaped GTA content for a decade — GTA 5 streamers routinely mute the radio outright to avoid strikes, which means a huge share of the game's audience has never heard its soundtrack. Given how much of GTA 6's marketing has run through creators, building the fix in is the obvious move. It is also, at the moment, one person's report.

What is still unconfirmed

Every station name. Rockstar has announced none. All twelve circulating names come from leaked build footage.
What any of the ten artists actually did. Involvement is well evidenced after September 15; a song, a station, a host slot or a release date is not. Nothing rules out some of them appearing only in future marketing.
The full tracklist. No soundtrack album, no track count, no genre breakdown has been published. For scale, GTA 5 shipped with 200-plus songs across more than 15 stations and San Andreas with over 150.
DJs and hosts. Not one host has been named. GTA's stations have historically been carried by their DJs as much as their music, and this is a complete blank.
Talk radio. A leaked name, "The Wipe," is described as a talk show. Nothing official supports the return of talk radio at all.
Whether trailer songs are in the game. Separate licences; see above. Love Is a Long Road is not confirmed as radio music.
The on-demand system and streamer mode. Credible report — sourced to preview attendees, not to Rockstar.
